ACS – Allen, Carrington, Spalding – Trio was an important part of Geri Allen’s later collaborative works and served as a home base for her musically. As a trio, their goal was to expand their creative impulses using the jazz standard repertoire. Carrington and Spalding have continued this trio concept with a few different artists, consciously leaving the piano chair open. Ravi Coltrane will be joining Esperanza Spalding and Terri Lyne Carrington as they honor Geri Allen.
